"Oh Lord have mercy.  I don't even know what happened," Damron's mother told a 911dispatcher. "He has a lot of mental problems and I'm scared he's going to hurt somebody hurt(himself). Could you please get out here?"

The house next to Damron's was struck several times by bullets.

Homeowner John Niedermier will have to make repairs, including replacing a window, but said hewas glad no one was harmed.

"If he had a wider gap where he could have started shooting at angles, I believe it could havebeen worse," Niedermier said.

Police said Damron, 21, was armed with a high-powered rifle, a 40-caliber pistol, and a12-gauge shotgun.

Neighbors said they heard at least 20 to 30 shots, Kocot reported.

Police arrested Damron Monday night, after several hours of negotiations with SWAT teammembers.

Officers used a Taser to subdue Damron, and no injuries were reported.

Damron was being held in the Franklin County Jail Tuesday and expected to appear in court onWednesday, Kocot reported.

In Ohio, it is not illegal for someone who suffers from mental illness to own a firearm, butpolice said you can ask to have them removed from a home if you believe someone is a threat tothemselves or others.
