Moore's wife, who did not want to speak on camera, said that when her husband sworeto protect and serve, he also swore that he would always come home at the end of his shift, 10TV'sMaureen Kocot reported.
Moore was shot multiple times on Thursday as he attempted to investigate analleged marijuana growing operation at a home in the 7300 block of County Road 179.

The detective shared the promise he had made to his family with his best friend,fellow deputy Brian Newsome.
"Every time we've talked we both know that we're going home at the end of theshift," Newsome said. "He fired a handgun over half of a football field and hit the target he wasaiming at."
Shane Roush was charged with attempted aggravated murder. Roush, who was also shotseveral times when Moore returned fire, remained hospitalized at The Ohio State University MedicalCenter in Columbus.
Agents seized 1,700 marijuana plants, many from a large greenhouse set up behindthe house, the sheriff's office has said. More than 100 weapons were also seized.
Roush's wife, Corrina Roush, was charged with trafficking in drugs.
Moore was scheduled to undergo his fifth surgery on Monday at Grant Medical Centerin Columbus. His wife said he is expected to make a full recovery and be able to return to thesheriff's office.
