After Arrest, Sunshine Band Founder Downplays Man's Contribution

The founder of KC and the Sunshine Band speaks out about a former band mate arrested for having sexual contact with a teen boy. Get the details.

The lead singer of 1970s disco group KC and the Sunshine Band on Friday distanced himself from aformer band mate arrested for allegedly having sexual contact with teen boys.

Richard Finch admitted to having sex with teenage boys earlier this month, the Licking CountySheriff's office said.

Harry Wayne Casey, lead singer and founder of the group, said Finch was not with the band fromthe start, 10TV News reported.

Casey said Finch "continuously held onto the illusion and has given the impression that hiscontribution was much more integral than it actually was."

Finch, 56, remained in jail on a $250,000 bond, 10TV News reported.

The sheriff's investigation was ongoing.
