The Columbus Public Health Department said the recall is not expected to affectlocal vaccination clinics.
ODH said they are looking into where those 35,000 doses were sent and administered,Kocot reported.
Columbus health experts said while reports of H1N1 illness have been declining inrecent weeks, the potential for a widespread flu is still very strong, and. they are urgingeveryone to get the vaccine as soon as possible.
The recall involves about 800,000 doses made by Sanofi Pasteur. The doses arepre-filled syringes intended for young children, ages 6 months to 3-years-old.
Health officials recommend children those ages get two doses of the vaccine, spaced about amonth apart.
If your child received one of the recalled doses, the health department said the vaccine isstill effective, but is telling parents to make sure their children gets the second dose about amonth after the first shot is administered, Kocot reported.
Health officials said it was unclear how many doses of the ineffective vaccine have alreadybeen given, but said they do not think children need to be re-vaccinated.
The lots passed potency tests when they were first shipped, but tests indicate the potency wanedafter.
