TARRANT COUNTY, Texas — The dog days of summer are looking up for the eight puppies who were left for dead in a field earlier this week.

After being taken to the Chuck & Brenda Silcox Animal Care & Adoption Center, located at 4900 Martin St. in Fort Worth, the shelter announced that all eight puppies were adopted. Deputy Stephenson, who helped rescue the litter, said he was going to adopt one of the puppies.

In a post, the Tarrant County Sheriff's Office said a litter of eight puppies was left in a field inside a carrier with no water Monday. With North Texas highs reaching triple digits, the puppies were in grave danger.

TCSO said a Good Samaritan called them to come rescue the pups. In the post, deputies took pictures of the dogs inside the patrol car.

The shelter named the litter after chips, including Cheetos, Fritos, Ruffles, Lays Potato and more.

"Unfortunately, due to a lack of surveillance cameras in the area the puppies were found, it is unlikely we will be able to catch whoever dumped the puppies," TCSO added.

Puppy Update: The 8 puppies that were rescued by Deputy Stephenson & Deputy Drew on Monday June 24th are at the Chuck & Brenda Silcox Animal Care & Adoption Center. They are 6 weeks old and believed to be a shepherd mix. Deputy Stephenson said he is going to adopt one of the puppies but the 7 other puppies still need homes. However the animal shelter is looking for fosters and adoptions for these puppies, and they should be available for adoption sometime next week. They're all named after chips, including Cheetos, Fritos, Ruffles, Lays Potato, Cheese Itz, Doritos, and Pringles. Unfortunately, due to a lack of surveillance cameras in the area the puppies were found, it is unlikely we will be able to catch whoever dumped the puppies. Thank you Deputy Stephenson and Deputy Drew for saving these puppies. Video credit: Dawn White CBS News Texas
