COLUMBUS, Ohio — Thursday marks the first night of Hanukkah, Judaism’s “festival of lights.”
On eight consecutive nights, Jews worldwide will gather with family and friends to light the menorah. If you want to experience a Hanukkah celebration with the community, check out the events around central Ohio.

Free event featuring a Hanukkah Hero skydiving to light the first candle and a Hanukkah candy cannon shooting out thousands of edible dreidels. You can RSVP here.
Friday, Dec. 8 at 4:30 p.m. | Lori Schottenstein Chabad Center, New Albany
Grand Menorah lighting followed by a family-friendly three-course meal. Register here.
Saturday, Dec. 9 from 7:30 p.m. to 9 p.m.
Join Easton and Chabad of Columbus for a special menorah lighting at the Town Square. It’s a family party with sufganiyot, dreidels, raffle prizes, music, dancing and refreshments.
Sunday, Dec. 10 at noon | Nationwide Arena
Cheer on the Blue Jackets, participate in the menorah lighting, and enjoy a postgame slapshot on the ice. Tickets include a Hebrew CBJ Beanie and kosher food. Get tickets here.
