Siblings reunite after over 50 years apart

A group of siblings who were in the foster care system finally reunited after 52 years.

LANCASTER COUNTY, Pa. — A group of siblings who were once in the foster care system finally reunited after 52 years apart.

“The emotions were just... we all still get goosebumps. We get together and it’s so much fun,” said Edna Magee.

The siblings gathered in Lancaster County for a barbeque to make up for lost time. The five, initially seven, were sent into the foster care system when they were young.

While a few were adopted, others remained in the system alone.

“This is crazy because we never thought we would ever see them again,” said Jean Nelson.

While some were reunited in their teens, two of the youngest siblings couldn’t be found; the two weren't aware they had other family members.

A "Find My Family" Facebook post revealed one of the siblings, Rosie, had passed away, but their brother, Steven, was alive. After a few calls, the five were reunited.

“[Steven] was just holding onto me, and I let my arms go because I thought I was hugging them too much," said Teri Amos. "He just held onto me and wouldn’t let me go.”

Reunited, they knew they were family and after decades apart, they plan to keep the love alive.

“We get together and spend [time] together. I mean it’s been a long time coming,” said Steven Fosse.
