COLUMBUS, Ohio — A former Ohio State football player has partnered with a Columbus-area company to create his own flavor of beef jerky.
Projected first-round pick Paris Johnson Jr. teamed up with Charqui Jerky Company to make a custom sweet and smoky BBQ style jerky inspired by the offensive tackle.
The jerky, dubbed Paris' Cut, is available in Columbus-area Giant Eagle grocery stores, on Amazon and at CharquiJerky.com.
A portion of the proceeds from Paris' Cut will benefit The Paris Johnson Jr. Foundation and Columbus-based nonprofit 2nd & 7 Foundation, according to a release from the jerky company.
"It's so much fun to be able to help inspire a product that Charqui Jerky that my family and I snack on regularly," Johnson said.
The left tackle announced last month he would be leaving the Buckeyes and entering the 2023 NFL Draft. Johnson was a full-time starter for the last two seasons.
In 2022, he was a consensus first-team All-American, first-team All-Big Ten and a semifinalist for the Outland Trophy.
For his efforts off the field, he was the recipient of the Armed Forces Merit Award this past year for his work with the Paris Johnson Jr. Foundation.
