Brittany’s Bites: Apple Cider Pumpkin Bread

10TV's Brittany Bailey is focused on the flavors of fall with this week's recipe.

COLUMBUS, Ohio — Ingredients:

  • 1 2/3 cups flour
  • 1 ½ cups sugar
  • 1 tsp baking soda
  • ¼ tsp baking powder
  • ¾ tsp salt
  • ½ tsp cinnamon
  • ½ tsp nutmeg
  • ¼ tsp cloves
  • 1 cup canned pumpkin
  • ½ cup apple cider
  • 2 eggs
  • 1/3 cup oil
  • 1 cup green apples, peeled and chopped
  • ¾ cup chopped walnuts
  • Powdered sugar for dusting

Directions:

  • Preheat oven to 325 degrees. Grease a loaf pan. Set aside.
  • In one bowl, sift together flour, sugar, baking soda, baking powder and spices.
  • In a separate bowl, combine pumpkin, eggs, cider and oil.
  • Combine wet and dry ingredients. Fold in apples and walnuts.
  • Pour into greased loaf pan.
  • Bake for at least 90 minutes or until a toothpick comes out clean. Cool. Dust with powdered sugar.
