COLUMBUS, Ohio — Fans of Spider-Man can listen to the score for the animated film this fall in Columbus.
The tour will visit more than 50 cities and kick off the next Spider-Verse saga chapter. It will spin its way to the Palace Theatre on Nov. 6.
Tickets start at $40 and can be purchased at the CBUSArts Ticket Center at the Ohio Theatre, online at capa.com or CBUSArts.com.
The film has a unique mix of orchestral, electronic music and scratch DJ-ing.
Guests will see the film on a large HD screen, accompanied by a range of musicians and instrumentalists performing music from the film’s score and soundtrack live to picture.
The score was created by Emmy-winning composer and songwriter Daniel Pemberton, who is known for his work on movies such as “Ferrari,” “The Man From U.N.C.L.E.,” “Oceans 8," "Enola Holmes,” “The Bad Guys” and “Steve Jobs.”
“Across The Spider-Verse is probably the most exciting, groundbreaking and impactful score I’ve written,” Pemberton said. “I’ve always believed that there should be no barriers to music, but it’s rare to get the opportunity that you get within the Spider-Verse - where else could you have powerful orchestral themes side by side with punk drum solos, virtuoso record scratching next to twisted electronics, off-kilter whistling next to hip-hop beats?”
Pemberton said he gained inspiration for the score from growing up amid the London rave scene in the 90s. He immersed himself in techno nights, scratch-DJ-ing and heavy drumming and punk guitars.
