Short North Stage brings beloved classic musical back to central Ohio

According to the musical's director, the show will connect with audiences no matter what era they may be from.

COLUMBUS, Ohio — The Short North Stage is bringing a beloved classic musical "Hair" back to central Ohio.

The Broadway hit celebrates the hippie generation with chart-topping songs like "Aquarius" and "Let the Sunshine In."

This is a revival of the Short North Stage's hit 2018 take on the story and, according to the musical's director, the show will connect with audiences no matter what era they may be from.

"I like to say that 'Hair' is always relevant because, no matter when you're doing it, it seems to have some relevance to the times," said Edward Carignan, artistic director of the Short North Stage as well as the director and choreographer of this show. "Right now, I think we're seeing a time of protesting come back and this show is a protest; it is a musical written as a protest of the Vietnam War and many of those themes really translate into our times and what we're seeing in the news right now."

"Hair" runs through June 9th at the Garden Theater in the Short North. For showtimes and ticket information visit: https://www.shortnorthstage.org/hair.
