NEWPORT, Kentucky — Santa Claus will soon dive into the Newport Aquarium to meet with kids and swim with some sea creatures before making his big journey across the globe this holiday season.
From Nov. 24 to Dec. 24, visitors at the aquarium in Newport, Kentucky will have the chance to meet Scuba Santa. This is the aquarium’s 21st year of hosting “Scuba Santa’s Water Wonderland.”
According to the aquarium, Santa’s journey first begins in the 385,000-gallon “Surrounded by Sharks” tank where he’ll swim with three rare Shark Rays, Denver the Loggerhead Sea Turtle and other fish.
Kids will be able to talk with him while he’s diving underwater and tell him what they want for Christmas. There will also be lights and music throughout the venue during his visit.
“That look of wonder on a child’s face when they see Scuba Santa swimming underwater and realize he can see, hear and speak with them is so special,” said Rebecca Foster, Newport Aquarium’s executive director. “It’s that magic that makes this an unforgettable holiday tradition.”
The visit with Santa is included in regular admission. You can find more information at newportaquarium.com.
