COLUMBUS, Ohio — It's almost St. Patrick's Day! The celebration of Irish heritage falls on March 17 every year.
The holiday honors Saint Patrick, the patron saint of Ireland who is known for bringing Christianity to the country over 1,000 years ago.
Many communities across central Ohio are offering parades, dinners, live music and entertainment in honor of the Irish holiday. Find an event near you in the list below.
St. Patrick's Day Parades near Columbus
Dublin's Greenest, Grandest Parade
On March 9, the City of Dublin will celebrate St. Patrick's Day with a parade at Metro Center through Historic Dublin at 11 a.m. A pancake breakfast will take place before the parade at Sells Middle School on 150 W. Bridge St. from 7:30-11 a.m.
Columbus St. Patrick's Day Parade
The parade on St. Patrick's Day has a different parade route this year. The parade steps off at 11:45 a.m. at Broad and 5th streets and will travel north on High Street before ending at the Greater Columbus Convention Center for the Irish Family Reunion.

2024 Shamrock Club Irish Family Reunion
Battelle Grand Ballroom at the Columbus Convention Center - 400 N. High St, Columbus
This paid event brings together people to celebrate their Irish heritage through food, song and dance. There will also be a raffle this year. Find more information about the event here.

Fado Irish Pub
4022 Townsfair Way, Columbus
Doors open at 8 a.m. for "Kegs and Eggs." There is a $10 cover charge for those interested in attending the event that lasts through 10 a.m. After 10 a.m., the charge is $20. The restaurant will host several musical artists like Ladies of Longford, Trailer Park Ninjas, The Naked Karate Girls and guests can see Irish dancers and drums throughout the day. Flannagan's Dublin St. Patrick's Day Bash

Flannagan's Dublin is hosting its annual St. Patrick's Day celebration on Saturday, March 16 starting at noon. Admission is free until 5 p.m. The event will feature three live band performances. This event is 21+. For more information, click here.
Leprechaun Trail for families at Highbanks Metro Park
Hike on your own along a short trail around the Highbanks nature center looking for hidden leprechauns, shamrocks and other St. Patrick's day items on a scavenger hunt. According to the park, scavenger hunts will be posted at the beginning of the trail and paper copies are available in the nature center. Stop inside nature center after your hike for a small prize and make a craft.
