COLUMBUS, Ohio — New Vision Dance Company heads back to the stage of the McCoy Center with a brand-new show that flashes all the way back to "the decade of decadence."
"Like, Totally: A Tribute to the Music of the 80s" will showcase the company's dancers rocking out to chart toppers by some of the decade's biggest stars.
"I will admit it has been 40 years since I graduated from high school," said Melissa Gould, artistic director for New Vision. "This show is a whole compilation of all of my favorite songs that I danced to...and it is a wild, colorful, spectacular array of 80s hits."
"It's such a blast," said Maria Peltier, a company dancer who is featured in a solo performed to "Maniac" from the movie "Flashdance." "It gets you going."
"My entire childhood is every song that is in this show," said Jonathan Hill, a dancer and choreographer who is set to cha-cha to the classic Gloria Estefan song "Rhythm is Going to Get You."
"It's really kind of a fun way for parents - or grandparents even - to, kind of, reconnect with that younger generation over this shared love of the music and the groovy, kind of, crazy vibe that was the 1980s." Gould said.
"Like, Totally" takes the stage of the McCoy Center in New Albany on Saturday, Oct. 12 for a 3 p.m. matinee as well as a 7 p.m. show. For ticket information, visit: https://www.newvisiondanceco.org/.
