NEW ALBANY, Ohio — Dancers from all over will convene in central Ohio next weekend for the third annual New Albany Dance Festival.
Hosted by New Vision Dance Company, the festival is a 3-day event. Kicking off Friday evening with a concert of adult professional performers from companies all around central Ohio, the event will then feature more than 30 free dance classes on Saturday with a showcase of central Ohio dance studios in the evening.
The festival will wrap up on Sunday with an international dance concert that features "cultural dance companies from all across central Ohio."
"I had a dream of creating this festival years ago when the Hinson [Amphitheatre] was announced that they were going to be building it," said Melissa Gould, artistic director of New Vision Dance Company. "It's a gorgeous venue; you're able to just bring a blanket or a chair and relax and enjoy an evening under the stars and watch people celebrate and share their love of dance."
The New Albany Dance Festival runs July 26 through the 28 at the Hinson Amphitheatre in New Albany, but the city will also be hosting a "Battle of the DJs" event on July 25 that will see the city's downtown turned into one big dance party.
