Here’s where you can find fall festivals in central Ohio

As Halloween approaches, many communities in central Ohio are hosting their own fall festivals with games, food and activities for people of all ages.

COLUMBUS, Ohio — Looking for some fall-themed fun? Several towns and cities in the central Ohio area are hosting fall festivals with food trucks, kids activities and music.

The following list has been assembled in order of date.

Plain City Fall Festival – Oct. 21

Plain City is kicking off its Halloween festivities on Saturday with its annual Fall Festival with hayrides, a costume contest, bounce houses, food trucks and more.

This year’s festival will take place on Oct. 21 from 4 p.m. to 7 p.m. at Pastime Park, located at 370 N Chillicothe St. Admission to the event is free and costumes are encouraged.

Some activities families will find at the park include: hayrides, A trick-or-treat trail, costume contests, live giant pumpkin carving, COSI curbside, bounce houses, archery, axe throwing, face painting, and a petting zoo.

There will also be 11 food trucks stationed around with pizza, ice cream, Mexican food, Greek food, lemonade and more.

Parking is available at the south entrance of Pastime Park, near the Aquatic Center. There will also be parking on the Phelps Property on North Chillicothe Street.

Easton Town Center’s HOWLoween Pet Contest & Fall Festival - Oct. 22

Pet owners have the chance to enter their pups in a costume contest this Oct. 22 at Easton Town Center.

From noon to 3 p.m., Easton will host a fall-themed event for visitors. 10TV's own Collin Dorsey will be there judging for the contest from noon to 2 p.m. Winners will be announced at 2:30 p.m.

The categories for judging are as follows: scariest, funniest, cutest, most creative, best duo and best group.

There will also be activities and goodies for all ages.

Great Gahanna Goblin Festival – Oct. 27

Gahanna’s Goblin Festival will be held at Academy Park from 5:30 to 9:30 p.m. on Oct. 27.

The event includes a trick-or-treat trail, hayrides, performers and food options. Visitors are encouraged to dress up and kids are asked to bring trick-or-treat bags to collect candy,

“The Great Gahanna Goblin Fest is one of the favorite events in our city,” said Mayor Laurie Jadwin. “It is an opportunity for our neighborhoods and the community to come together in a fun, safe environment where children and families can celebrate together. It is always fun to see the inventive costumes that children and adults create for the night.”

The event at 1201 Cherry Bottom Rd. will feature live entertainment like Dr. Dan the Science Man, the Ohio School of Falconry, stilt walkers, fire breathers and more.

Admission is free, though the hayride will cost $2 per rider. Free parking will be offered at 1375 Cherry Way Dr. and a shuttle can take guests from that location to the park’s entrance.

Advanced registration for parking at Academy Park is required and costs $5.

Powell Fall Festival – Oct. 28

On Oct. 28, Powell is hosting its fall festival with food trucks, kids activities and live music at Village Green Park.

The event kicks off at noon and will run through 10 p.m. at 47 Hall St. 

Admission to the event is free with a suggested nonperishable donation to People in Need of Delaware County.

The music line-up includes North to Nashville, Alt95 Cleveland and the Dan Thompson Band. The city will also be bringing in the following food trucks: Spanglish Latin Street Food, The Jersey Way, Smitty's, BBQ & Catering, Tacomania FOOD TRUCK, BuckeyeCrepes, The Columbus Coffee Co., Kona Ice, The Hangry Chicken and Island Delights.

Those attending can park at the former Esporta facility on Sawmill Dr., according to the city. The city will run a shuttle from the former gym location to Village Green Park.
