COLUMBUS, Ohio — The seventh annual Columbus Taco Fest is back at Genoa Park this weekend to celebrate everything taco-related.
This year's event is May 18 from noon to 10 p.m. and May 19 from noon to 8 p.m. Due to its increasing popularity, Taco Fest will be expanding over the Rich Street Bridge.
During the festival on Saturday evening, Taco Fest announced on their social media that "due to unforeseen circumstances and recommendations from city officials," they are implementing an age restriction of 18+ for entry on Sunday. Minors under the age of 5 may enter if accompanied by an adult.
The Little Market area showcases local artisans and craft vendors, offering a diverse variety of goods. The Dessert Alley area is for those with a sweet tooth, featuring treats and desserts from Columbus confectioners.
There are 35 food vendors participating in this year's event and nearly 20 vendors.
The Deeptones, Shakin' & Stirred, Crawford & Company, Andy Shaw Band and Zoo Trippin' will be performing on Saturday. Then on Sunday, Paul Valdiviez & The Devious Boys, The Big Badd, Austin & The Syd Experience and Whitley Jean will play.
Those wanting to bring their furry friends to the festival can sign them up for a puppy dress-up contest on Sunday from 2 to 4 p.m.
Admission before 2 p.m. on the day of the event is free but will cost visitors $5 if they arrive after 2 p.m. Tickets can be purchased here.
"At Columbus Taco Fest, we are committed to delivering an exceptional experience for taco enthusiasts while also navigating the economic realities we face. The introduction of a nominal admission fee post-2 p.m. will enable us to maintain the vibrancy of the festival, support local businesses, and contribute to the community through our partnership with the Columbus Diaper Coalition," said Hugo Albornoz, the event's executive director.
