COLUMBUS, Ohio — Aethereal Jest Arts Council returns to the stage with a fresh take on a beloved literary classic.
“’Little Women of Orchard House’ is the un-classic retelling of the ‘Little Women’ story; it is the author’s story intertwined with the ‘Little Women’ story,” explained the Keriann Menz, the director of the play.
The story explores the life of author Louisa May Alcott and how it inspired her 1868 novel “Little Women.”
“You get to see her side of the story,” said Menz. “Her upbringing from a little girl all the way into adulthood and how that transitions so smoothly into the ‘Little Women’ story.”
Menz went on to explain that the story was perfect for the holiday season since much of the action of the play takes place during Christmas in the 1860s.
“It is completely family-friendly,” said Menz. “Kids of all ages can come and enjoy it. Everyone from the littlest kid to the oldest grandparent would love it; the people that have experience with this story and the people who are new to the story.”
Aethereal Jest Arts Council’s production of “Little Women of Orchard House” runs through Dec. 16 at the CPAC in downtown Columbus. For showtimes and ticket information, visit their website here.
