COLUMBUS, Ohio — Kiyerra Lake is an award-winning journalist and no stranger to the Midwest. She joined the 10TV News team after years in Michigan. You can catch her reporting dark and early on Wake Up CBUS.
Kiyerra graduated from Michigan State University, where she earned her degree in journalism. She hopes to avoid getting too much grief about being a Spartan since she too dislikes that team wearing maize and blue.

After graduation, she started her career in West Lafayette, Indiana. While there, she worked as a reporter and filled in on the anchor desk from time to time.
Following her time in Indiana, Kiyerra moved back to her home in Michigan. She was hired at WLNS in Lansing to work as an anchor on the weekends and a reporter during the week. During her time there, she worked hard to keep her community updated during the COVID-19 pandemic and worked on other award-winning investigative stories.
After working two years in Lansing, Kiyerra was promoted to the morning and noon anchor position. She made it her goal each day to share the news people needed to know before they headed out the door in the morning. So here at WBNS, it only made sense for her to stay on the morning shift to help central Ohioans get ready for their day.
When Kiyerra isn't at work, she loves to travel. She has lived in New York, California, Indiana, Brazil, Canada and Mexico. She loves animals and was a foster mom for 15 dogs in 2023.
Kiyerra has two dogs of her own named Boots and Dani and is currently trying to plan her wedding with her fiancé Jordan. She enjoys reading, is a foodie, and loves to get out and try new things.
