CIRCLEVILLE, Ohio — A 73-year-old man died in an apparent drowning at a home in Pickaway County Friday afternoon, the sheriff's office said.
Officials received a call from an Amazon driver just before 3:20 p.m. with a report of a body floating in a pond at a residence in the 23000 block of Smith-Hulse Road in Circleville. When deputies and medics arrived at the scene, they found Louis Menduni Jr. in the pond.
After being removed from the pond, Menduni was pronounced dead at the scene.
The sheriff's office said that it appeared Menduni was mowing grass on a riding mower around the pond and slid backward into the water.
This case is under investigation by the Pickaway County Sheriff’s Office.
